Your Wedding at The V&A

After deciding your big day will be taking place in the city, you then need to narrow down the exact location and venue. You’re looking for somewhere special, somewhere unforgettable, because after all, this is a day you would like to remember for the rest of your life. One of the incredible venues we recommend for weddings is the Victoria and Albert Museum, also known as the V&A, located in South Kensington. This is one of the most elegant and exclusive venues in London and will definitely leave a lasting impression on both you and your guests, just like it did for spectacular wedding that we produced their last month with some of the best suppliers in the industry, The Recipe Catering, Philipa Craddock Floristry and Rosalind Miller Wedding Cakes.

Originally founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, the V&A is the worlds leading museum of decorative arts and design, housing a permanent collection of over 2.3 million objects spanning over 5,000 years and housed in 145 galleries.

Arriving to the venue after your wedding ceremony, you have a few options for your arrival and drinks reception, but none as special as The John Madejski Garden. This hidden treasure is situated in the middle of museum, and the serene space is perfect for mingling with your wedding guests whilst sipping on Champagne. The garden has a beautiful oval pool with elegant fountains which complement the traditional simplicity of the Courtyard and acts as a central feature for the space.

Leading through to the Gardens is The Dorothy and Michael Hintze Sculpture Galleries, which house some of the finest sculptures in the museum. The galleries have tall windows which all open up to allow your guests a bigger area to freely flow between spaces. The black and white mosaic floor and neutral coloured walls really enhance the sculptures creating a stunning setting for your drinks reception.

Following your arrival reception, you guests would be ushered into the beautiful Raphael Gallery for your wedding breakfast, the largest and most prestigious space in the entire building. The room is home to the marvelous Raphael Cartoons which were commissioned by Pope Leo X in 1515, making this an extremely memorable room for your meal.

The last space within the museum is the impressive Dome, with its elevated ceilings, charming architecture, and incredible hanging glass sculpture, there is no better place to dance the night away and finish off your evening.
